Describing his search for lodgings in Paris and a room he is thinking about taking; noting that Parisian cooking "makes one feel anything but comfortable afterwards," especially since "the waiters are thunderstruck when you leave off after two or three dishes"; expressing surprise that his brother, Wilkie Collins, doesn't spend more time in Paris because "every one of his tastes would be gratified here."
